Kristina Viirpalu comes from a family with a long history in tailoring. Her mother and grandmother had their own studio since 1950s.
She graduated as a choreographer from the Tallinn University, studied technical design and technology of apparel in the clothing and textile faculty of the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences. Kristina is currently a student of jewellery design in the Tallinn Art Academy.
Kristina creates modern clothes for women using traditional skills and natural materials. Clean lines and strong abundant colours are characteristic of her style.
The collections consist mainly of unique pieces – haute couture evening gowns, coctail dresses, coats, suits and handknitted bridal gowns inspired by the traditional Haapsalu shawl, also embroidered tights and stockings and tights with design patterns. In addition to the collections Kristina creates individual designs on commission. Her clients include among others the First Lady of Estonia and several members of the Parliament.
